The presentations sparked lively discussions and comments from Mongolian researchers and practitioners. The feedback on the security-related presentations offered insights into Mongolia's complex geopolitical position. From November 5th to 7th, the delegation visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Institute for Strategic Studies (National Security Council of Mongolia), the Institute of International Studies(Mongolian Academy of Sciences), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Mongolia Office, the School of Law of the National University of Mongolia, the Embassy of Japan in Mongolia, and the JICA Mongolia Office. They exchanged views with researchers, high-ranking government officials, and other relevant stakeholders on Japan-Mongolia cooperation and confidence-building in Asia.
They have gained a deeper understanding of Mongolia's efforts to pursue their "third neighbor" diplomacy as well as efforts to become a hub for dialogue initiatives such as the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue, being situated in a challenging geopolitical position between its two giant neighbors, Russia and China.
They also had the opportunity to have meetings with Mr. Enkhsaikhan Jargalsaikhan(Chairman, Blue Banner), Mr. Zandanshatar Gombojav(Chief of Staff, the State Great Hural). These meetings provided them with valuable insights into the future direction of the project.
They have received positive feedback from many institutions and organizations regarding their future cooperation on the project. Outcomes of this visit will follow in the forms of papers and events to be announced on this website.
