The Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology of the University of Tokyo and Pacific Forum International signed a Memorandum of Understanding in July 2022. RCAST Open Laboratory for Emergence Strategies (ROLES) and Pacific Forum International will collaborate, cooperate, and exchange on various traditional and non-traditional security issues in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as affairs relating to the Japan-US alliance. ROLES and the Pacific Forum International will undertake joint and collaborative research projects including conferences, lectures, seminars, and publications, as well as exchange of visiting researchers.
