Members of the "Security Cooperation Mechanisms" International Study Group participated in "The Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security: The Tenth International Conference"
A delegation consisting of members of the "Security Cooperation Mechanisms" International Study Group organized by ROLES and ROLES project researchers visited Ulaanbaatar from June 4 to June 7 to participate in "The Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security: The Tenth International Conference" as part of the activities of the study group. They also had a meeting with the Institute for Strategic Studies, National Security Council, Mongolia (ISS) regarding the international conference scheduled to be held in August this year.
The Ulaanbaatar Dialogue, organized by the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mongolian Institute for Strategic Studies, is a 1.5 track international conference to discuss security issues in Northeast Asia. The 10th conference was attended by more than 230 experts and government officials from more than 40 countries.

From the visiting delegation, Professor Yoko Iwama of National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) took the podium in the first session. Professor Iwama spoke on the history of Japan's security policy to date, changes in the security environment that Japan is currently facing and how to respond to them, and the need for dialogue and confidence-building in Asia, and answered questions.

During the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue, the delegation met with ISS Mongolia Director Mendee Jargalsaikhan and others to discuss an international conference to be held in August jointly by ROLES, ISS Mongolia, and JICA.
