Prof. Satoshi IKEUCHI, Founding Chair of RCAST Open Laboratory for Emergence Strategies (ROLES), received a courtesy call by Dr. Karim Haggag, Director of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) at the Division of Religion and Global Security of RCAST of the University of Tokyo at Komaba Research Campus (Komaba II) where ROLES is established. The two held a closed-door discussion on global affairs, particularly on the Gulf and Middle Eastern affairs.

Both have expressed interests in exploring cooperation both as organizations and as indivisual scholars.

The conversation was preceded by Prof. IKEUCHI's lecture in January 2023 at the Tahrir Campus of the American University in Cairo (AUC) where Dr. Haggag moderated the event as Professor of Practice and Director of the Middle East Studies Program of AUC before he moved to SIPRI in 2025.
