On 10 March, the Research Centre for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) at the University of Tokyo, division of Comparative Political Dynamics, welcomed Dr Vytautas Kuokštis, Associate Professor of Vilnius University, Institute of International Relations and Political Science (TSPMI), for the RCAST Security Seminar ‘The Political Economy of the Lithuanian Growth Puzzle’.

Dr Kuokštis is currently visiting Japan as a visiting foreign fellow of the Slavic Eurasian Research Centre (SRC) at Hokkaido University, and took the opportunity to present at the RCAST Security Seminar.
 
After an opening address by Professor Ryo Nakai of the RCAST, Dr Kuokštis presented a report based on the seminar's theme. There was a lively Q&A session with the floor, and the topics covered a wide range of topics, including comparisons with other Baltic states, the impact of relations with countries outside Europe, and even the stability of democracy.
