ROLES of the University of Tokyo will host “Istanbul Japan-Middle East Strategic Dialogue Week 2026” from September 14 to 18, 2026 —which includes the “3rd Japan-Middle East Strategic Dialogue” (September 17–18)—at a hotel conference hall in Istanbul (details to be announced shortly). 

During this week, multiple international conferences will be held in both public and closed-door formats. Leading experts and high-ranking officials from Turkey, Arab and Gulf countries, as well as the South Caucasus and Central Asia, will participate. 

As an international conference hosted by Japan, we welcome participants from Japan—whether residing in Istanbul or Turkey, joining from the representative branchs of Japanese companies or organizations in the Middle East and Gulf regions, or traveling from Japan. Gathrings are closely-knit, in-person opportunity to connect and discuss with the most urgent issues in the region presented by invited speakers on full academic backbones.
