“Eyes on the Machine: Observing Elections in the Digital Age” (by Dr Régis Dandoy)

The stable implementation of free and competitive elections is the cornerstone of democratic governance. The presence and effectiveness of election observation and assistance missions are essential to ensure electoral integrity amid various political uncertainties. Yet, many political scientists have limited exposure to this crucial aspect of democratic practice; only a select few have directly engaged in the process of safeguarding free and fair elections.

Dr. Régis Dandoy, the featured speaker for this talk, is an exceptional scholar who combines advanced theoretical and empirical research on elections with extensive field experience in election observation missions. Deeply committed to defending and promoting the quality of democracy worldwide, Dr. Dandoy offers a unique perspective on the challenges facing electoral integrity today.

One of the most pressing issues in this field is ensuring transparency and trust in the face of evolving electronic voting technologies.
