Joint Webinar: Implications of a Taiwan Conflict on Commercial Shipping

Sub-Group 2 on "Maritime and Transportation Security"
The security and openness of the maritime waters around Taiwan are vital for the functioning of global trade and in maintaining the peace and security of Asia. There are growing concerns that a new Taiwan Strait crisis is brewing with China readying to attack Taiwan through direct or indirect means. This panel discussion hosted by YCAPS and ROLES will examine the implications of growing instability in Asia-Pacific’s maritime order. We will specifically discuss how a Taiwan crisis may affect commercial shipping interests, with a focus on ensuring supply chain continuity. This event is supported by JSPS KAKENHI Grant Number JP22H00814.
