Last December, Japan adopted the new “National Security Strategy,” “National Defense Strategy,” and the "Defense Buildup Program" that will boost both Japan and the Japan-US alliance to deal with the myriad security challenges in the Indo-Pacific. Still, the Japan-US alliance continues to face significant challenges that are bound to grow in the years ahead.
