A special lecture by Dr. Guibourg DELAMOTTE, Associate Professor of the French National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) and Visiting Associate Professor at the Tokyo College of the University of Tokyo, on the international relations and alliances system of the Indo-Pacific will be held on December 10, 2021.

Her lecture will be on "New partnerships in the Indo-Pacific: How alliance dynamics adapt to an emerging world order."

 

This is part of the series "Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies Special Lectures" held by Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies of the Graduate School of Engineering, University of Tokyo. 

 

This lecture is delivered in English. Japanese interpretation is partially provided by Prof. Satoshi IKEUCHI. Question and answer session follows in Japanese. 

 

The lecture will cover the following topics. 

1. Alliances dynamics in the emerging era of the Indo-Pacific  

2. Japan's influence in the new dynamics

3. Actors in this new sphere of alliances

4. Relationships with China and Aspirations on the new international order. 

 

Dr. Delamotte is Visiting Associate Professor at the Tokyo College  of the University of tokyo for a year from October 2021 to September 2022, virtually from Paris and occasionally on campus in Tokyo. 

Her stay at the University of Tokyo will be funded by Tokyo College Professor program and accommodated by RCAST, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo.
