The “Japan-Middle East Strategic Dialogue,” co-organized by the Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) at the University of Jordan, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) of the University of Tokyo and RCAST Open Laboratory for Emergent Strategy (ROLES) was held on May 12 and 13 in Amman.
In addition to representatives from Japan and Jordan, the event drew a large number of participants from various fields—including researchers, politicians, business leaders, staff from international organizations, and students—from countries and regions across the Middle East and Africa (such as Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey, Palestine, and Mauritania), as well as from Europe and the United States, and from the United Nations and other international organizations. They discussed the situation in Gaza, the future of Middle Eastern politics, opportunities for economic cooperation and investment, and the region’s future prospects.
