Seminar: Saku Security Forum "Maritime Security and Saku Region"

The security environment surrounding Japan is posing greater challenges in recent years, with repeated incursions into Japanese waters and EEZ surrounding the Senkaku Islands, weapons tests and drills by North Korea, and Russian military vessels passing through the Soya and Tsugaru Straits. Even for regions far away from the sea such as Saku City, maritime issues have significant impact that warrant greater attention.

In this seminar, Dr. Collin Koh (Senior Fellow, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies) will share his expertise on maritime security to talk about the developments in the maritime domain and their impact on Japan and lives of citizens. The seminar will be moderated by Dr. Ryo Hinata-Yamaguchi (Project Assistant Professor, RCAST).
